You never set a bundle’s stock by hand. It’s worked out from the items inside, and the items’ stock goes down when a bundle sells. This tutorial explains the rules so the numbers always make sense.
In short
- Bundle stock is what your items can make.
- Stock comes off every item inside when the order is placed.
- Cancelling puts the stock back.
- Use Sync to catalog after restocking items.
1. How many bundles you can sell
For each item, the plugin divides its stock by how many go in one bundle, and the bundle can sell the smallest of those. If item A has 10 in stock with 2 per kit (5 kits) and item B has 4 with 1 per kit (4 kits), the bundle can sell 4.
- Items that don’t track stock don’t limit the bundle.
- A Stock cap limits it further — for mix & match, each box separately.
- An item added as a whole product with variants counts all its variants’ stock together.
2. When a bundle sells
When an order with a bundle is placed, stock comes off each item inside: the kit quantities for a fixed bundle, the pack’s units for a volume pack, and the chosen items for a mix & match box. The bundle’s own stock is then worked out again.
3. When an order is cancelled
Cancel the order in Orbit and exactly what it took is put back. A refund or return that doesn’t cancel the order doesn’t restock anything — adjust those items’ stock yourself.
4. Keep the numbers fresh
After you restock items, or sell them on their own, use Sync to catalog from the bundle’s ⋯ menu to work its stock out again straight away.
Good to know
- Stock syncing starts once you’ve opened Bundles after installing — that connects the plugin to your store.
- In the bundle list, “N sellable” for a mix & match box or volume pack adds up every choice, which can be more than your stock can make at once.
