A short tour: adding installation on a product page, then booking the delivery date after checkout.
HOW IT WORKS
01
Set up assembly, installation, room-of-choice delivery, removal and WEEE take-back — per item, a percentage of the order, a flat fee or a minimum charge, scoped by category, brand, tag or product.
02
A widget on the product page shows the services that apply to what they are looking at, and adds them to the basket at the right quantity.
03
After checkout they get a link to pick a date and an AM or PM slot, from your real crew capacity — and can reschedule until your cut-off.
04
Bookings land on a calendar, the date goes back onto the Orbit order, and each day prints as a run sheet with proof of delivery on the van.
Built for UK delivery: capacity is set per postcode region — IV, HS, ZE, KW, BT and the AB31–AB38 range — so highland and island jobs get their own days instead of being promised the same lead time as the mainland.
The services that apply to that product, with prices, added to the basket in one click.
A page where they pick a date and slot, then get confirmation and a reminder email.
Each day as a PDF sorted by region, with a mobile page to capture a signature, photos and notes.
The page your customer opens from the booking email: available dates come from your crew capacity, lead times and blackout dates.
SETUP GUIDE
Find Delivery & Installation Manager in the Orbit plugin store and choose Install. It asks to read and update your orders, to create and manage the service products it sells, and to send emails to your customers.
In Settings → Services, add what you sell: assembly, installation, delivery to a room of choice, old furniture removal, WEEE take-back. For each one choose how it is priced — per item, a percentage of the order, a flat fee, or a minimum charge — and which products it applies to, by category, brand, tag or individual product.
In the page builder, open your product page template and drop the Delivery & Installation widget below the add-to-basket button. It shows only the services that apply to the product being viewed, and adds them to the basket at the right quantity.
Lead times are set in working days, per product, category or brand, with a store default — this is the earliest date a customer can pick. Capacity is how many jobs you can do per weekday, per UK postcode region, so the islands and highlands can have different days from the mainland. Add blackout dates for bank holidays and shutdowns.
Decide whether customers pick just a date or a date plus an AM or PM slot, and how late they can reschedule — 48 hours before is typical. You can also edit the wording of the booking, confirmation, reminder and reschedule emails.
What the customer sees from the booking email. Only dates you can actually deliver on are offered.
The Calendar shows every booking. Unbooked orders lists anyone who hasn’t picked a date yet, so you can resend the link or book it on their behalf over the phone. Print the day as a run sheet — address, contact, items, services and notes, sorted by region.
Each booking has a mobile page for the crew, reached from a link. They capture a signature, photos and any notes, then mark the job complete — and the booked date and status stay on the Orbit order so your office staff see it too.
