Create volume packs (multipacks)

On this page

A volume pack sells one product in bigger quantities for less — a 2-pack, a 5-pack, a box of 12. In this tutorial we’ll create the packs and explain how their prices and stock work.

Steps in short

  1. Press New bundle and choose Volume pack.
  2. Add the one product sold in packs.
  3. Add a tier for each pack size with a price or a % off.
  4. Press Save & sync; each pack becomes a choice on the product.

1. Start a volume pack

In Bundles, press New bundle and choose Volume pack — “Multipack tiers of one product — 2-pack, 5-pack…”. Give it a name.

2. Choose the base product

Under Base product, press Add products and pick the product. A volume pack has exactly one; to change it, remove it with × and add another.

3. Add the pack sizes

Under Pack sizes, press Add tier for each pack. Set Units (2 or more), then either a Tier price or a % off — a tier price wins if you set both. Sells for shows the result: a £10 product in a 3-pack at 10% off sells for £27.

Tiers are named for you — “2-Pack”, “5-Pack” — and each pack size must be different.

4. Save and sync it

Press Save & sync. The bundle product gets a Pack size option with one choice per tier, each with its own price. Shoppers pick a pack size and add it to the basket as normal.

Good to know

  • Each pack’s stock is worked out from the base product: with 11 in stock, the 2-Pack can sell 5 and the 5-Pack can sell 2.
  • The base product needs to track stock — volume packs have no stock cap, so an untracked base product syncs as sold out.
  • Adding, removing or changing a tier creates a new catalogue product and archives the old one.
