Credit control is mostly conversations. This tutorial covers recording what customers tell you, and the Follow-ups tab that tells you who to call today.
Steps in short
- Click an account to see everything about it.
- Reminders wait until the promised date.
- Log every call, and pause during a dispute.
- Call them, check promises, review orders — then Done.
1. Open an account
Click any account to see its balance and overdue amount per currency, its credit position, its documents — open ones first — its statements, and every email it has been sent, including test sends and any the plugin decided not to send, with the reason.
2. Record a promise to pay
“They’ll pay £1,200 by Friday.” Reminders to that account wait until that date. If the money arrives, the promise is marked kept; if the date passes without it, it’s marked broken, goes on your follow-up list, and reminders start again.
3. Add notes and pause reminders
Add a note for every call and email, so anyone in your team can pick up where you left off. Pause reminders until a date — while a delivery problem is sorted, say. Statements still go out. You can also set where statements and reminders go, and an account’s payment terms.
4. Work the Follow-ups tab
| Item | Why it’s there |
|---|---|
| Call them | A final notice went out, or a debt is too old to chase by email. |
| Promise due / Promise broken | A promised date has arrived, or passed without payment. |
| Over limit / Order to review | An account went over its credit limit. |
| Check a reminder | The plugin was interrupted mid-send and can’t be sure the email went. It never resends by itself. |
Press Done when you’ve dealt with something, or Tomorrow to see it again then.
